NMF Office-Fleet

To keep the ships running smoothly, NMF Fleet makes ensures that the vessels are maintained properly and are fully certified to carry out their tasks. NMF Fleet also manages crew planning and certification. On the science side, NMF Office prepares the ship’s scientific cruise planning and organises all other aspects of the research cruises. As such, NMF Office is the point of contact to obtain diplomatic clearance, mandatory for scientists wishing to sample within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of third countries, for travel and certification of science parties (seafarer’s medicals and safety training) and for support using the Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) tool.

NMF Office also is the point of contact for marine scientists from the Netherlands to gain access to the European research fleet operated by our partners in the Ocean Facilities Exchange Group (OFEG).
